Veteran Benefits at Touro University Worldwide

Veteran Friendly College

Touro University Worldwide prides itself as a veteran-friendly college, with benefits available for active service members, veterans, their spouses, and children. TUW believes those who have worn the uniform and served their country deserve support as they transition from military service to a civilian career.

The best path for that transition is through higher education, where military students can take the knowledge they gained in the Armed Forces and build upon it to earn a college degree. TUW provides veteran-friendly college benefits, including financial and academic support, to make the return to civilian life that much easier.

Military Connection has awarded TUW the Veteran School Salute for offering “unparalleled dedication and commitment to their veteran and military students.” TUW accepts various Veterans Administration benefits for military students as well as offering additional benefits from the school.

TUW Is a Yellow Ribbon University

Under the Department of Defense guidelines, colleges and universities can choose to participate in the Yellow Ribbon Program and make additional funds available for a military student’s education. These programs are in addition to the benefits of the Post 9/11 GI Bill.

As a Yellow Ribbon University, TUW chooses the amount of tuition and fees they will contribute, an amount matched by the VA. These additional funds do not result in students having an additional charge to their GI Bill entitlement.

A Veteran-Friendly Online Education

TUW offers online degree programs that help military students better navigate the challenges they face in pursuing a degree. They attend class from anywhere they have a computer connection and do classwork at a time that is most convenient for their schedule.

The accelerated, eight-week terms used by the TUW online degree programs allow military students to learn at a pace that best fits their busy schedule.

Military students also receive attention from dedicated TUW staff members who work with them on navigating the college admissions process and connecting them with any academic support they may need.

Discounted Tuition For Military Students

Discounted tuition from TUW can apply to those who are active-duty military, retired veterans, Department of Defense civilians (non-contractor) and spouses and children of active duty service members and retired veterans. The rates by degree level are:

  • Associate/Bachelor: $250 per credit hour
  • Master: $300 per credit hour
  • Doctorate: $560 per credit hour

TUW does not charge military students any additional textbook, course materials or technology fees. The school’s generous credit transfer program also allows military students to earn credit for some military classes and experience.

With the veteran-friendly benefits offered by TUW, military students will find the support they need while making the transition into civilian life.
