Bachelor’s Degree Transfer Policy
In general, TUW will transfer up to 90 semester credits. All transferred credits must be from accredited institutions, ACE, CLEP, DANTES, Excelsior, etc. The transferred course(s) must meet the same general content standards as the university course. A minimum of 30 semester credits must be earned at TUW.
Community College Credits
Touro University Worldwide will accept transfer credits from accredited community colleges that are approved by the Department of Education (DOE).
Associate Degree Credits
Students that earn their Associate Degree from an accredited institution approved by the Department of Education (DOE) may transfer a minimum of 60 semester credits towards their baccalaureate program at TUW.
Four Year College/University Credits
Touro University Worldwide will accept transfer credits from accredited four year colleges or universities that are approved by the Department of Education (DOE).
International Baccalaureate (IB) Policy
TUW will accept the IB diploma for students who have earned 30 semester credit hours or more and grant a maximum of 33 semester credit hours of transfer credit toward the undergraduate degree program. Students who do not successfully achieve the IB diploma will have their subjects individually evaluated as listed on their certificate. TUW will award three semester credit hours for each subject in which a score of four or greater was earned up to a maximum of 24 semester credit hours.
Yeshiva Credits
Students may earn up to 48 college credits for post-high school yeshiva studies, pursued in Israel or in the United States, at Lander College for men or Seminaries or elsewhere. Students earn additional credits following review of their individual transcript. In order to receive transfer credits, students must submit to the University an official transcript with grades for an evaluation. No credit will be given for courses completed with a grade below C.
Master’s Degree Transfer Policy
TUW will transfer up to 25 percent of the semester credits required to complete a specific master’s-level program from accredited institutions provided the transferred credits meet the same general content standards as the University course. This excludes the Marriage and Family Therapy Program where TUW transfers a total of 12 credits that do not include the practicum courses.
Doctorate Degree Transfer Policy
TUW will transfer up to six semester credits at the doctoral level from accredited institutions provided the transferred credits meet the same general content standards as the University course.
Foreign Earned Academic Credit Transfer
Students who attended foreign universities are required to have their foreign transcript(s) evaluated by one of the NACES members (www.naces.org).* These evaluations must be submitted to the Registrar’s Office directly from the agency conducting the translation and evaluation.
Students must provide their official transcripts by the end of their second session of enrollment. (16 weeks)*
*NOTE: Due to COVID-19 students that are currently on a Provisional status for two consecutive sessions, will have an 8 week extension to submit their documents. Your deadline is June 29, 2020. Please contact your school and order the missing documents.
Students with conditional admission may register for one session (8 weeks) only with maximum of 2 courses and raise their GPA (2.3 GPA for Undergraduate Students, 3.0 GPA for Graduate Students, and a GPA 3.3 for Doctoral students). No future registration is permitted if the condition is not removed. (You may or may not be eligible for Federal Financial Aid depending on the number of credits attempted while having conditional admission status.
*The transferability of credits are subject to Touro University Worldwide transfer credit policies. Official transcripts are evaluated on an individual basis to determine which credits can be applied towards your TUW program of choice. Please speak with an enrollment advisor for more information.
