Touro University Worldwide Pledges Statement of Support for the Guard and Reserve

As part of the university’s ongoing commitment to serve and support the men and women of our nation’s military as well as their families, Touro University Worldwide (TUW) has recently pledged a Statement of Support for the Guard and Reserve.

TUW now joins a growing list of employers who have signed the Statement of Support since General Motors became the first employer to sign the pledge in 1972. By signing this Statement of Support, TUW is pledging to recognize, honor, and comply with the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act, provide managers and supervisors in the university with the tools they need to effectively manage employees who serve in the Guard and Reserve, recognize the unique skillsets of service members and encourage opportunities to hire Guardsmen, Reservists, and Veterans, and continually offer support to all members of the military and their families.

“Unwavering support for our service men and women as well as their families is one of our deepest-held commitments at Touro University Worldwide,” says TUW President and CEO Dr. Yoram Neumann, “Since the university was founded, we have been proud to offer tuition discounts to active duty service members and their family, Department of Defense employees, and those who serve in the Guard and Reserve. We recognize the incredible sacrifice that all of these men and women make each and every day and want to do our part to give back to them in any way we can. Signing the Statement of Support for the Guard and Reserve is the latest step in our efforts to serve and support the members of our Armed Forces, and it is a step that we are very proud to take.”

The Statement of Support for the Guard and Reserve was signed by TUW on June 4, 2017. In signing this pledge, the university is now eligible for award and recognition consideration by Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR).
