Why Touro University Worldwide is Military Friendly

Touro University Worldwide supports military students and family for service and sacrifice.

Service in the U.S. military doesn’t go unrecognized at Touro University Worldwide (TUW). Our faculty members and staff honor your service to our country and are proud to provide you with an accessible, affordable and attainable education that helps you meet your life goals after your military service. That’s why we’ve made the effort to earn a military-friendly distinction.

Online military-friendly schools make it easier for military service members—active duty as well as veterans—to put their education first and earn a college degree while keeping pace with the rigors of military service. TUW’s military-friendly initiatives go beyond the basic requirements to solidify our commitment to you and your family members. We’ve highlighted some of our most distinct military-friendly benefits that make earning your degree easier.

TUW Military-Friendly Initiatives

Full participation in GI Bill® and other military benefit services: Federal programs, including the GI Bill, help make college more affordable for active-duty service members, veterans and even your family members. Benefit programs like the GI Bill often cover up to 100 percent of tuition and other expenses associated with college, such as housing, books, supplies and more. As a military-friendly institution, TUW is proud to accept all forms of military benefits from this and other branch-specific education benefit programs.

Yellow Ribbon Program partner: The GI Bill and other military benefits are restricted to public, in-state institutions; however, specialized degree programs and other circumstances may require you to look beyond those institutions to earn your degree. The Yellow Ribbon Program was initiated to account for the tuition discrepancy often seen between private or out-of-state institutions and public, in-state colleges and universities. TUW is a Yellow Ribbon partner and will therefor supplement tuition costs for military students.

Discounted tuition for military students and family members: In addition to accepting federal military benefits, TUW offers discounted tuition for service members and their family.

Bachelor’s programs: $250 per credit hour
Master’s programs: $300 per credit hour
Doctorate program: $525 per credit hour

Military students who have exhausted their federal benefits or who are seeking programs not covered by their military benefits will appreciate the reduced tuition. And, we are proud to extend the discount to military spouses and children as a way to give back for their sacrifice and service.

Fully online degree programs: Active-duty service members often delay their educational pursuits because traditional on-ground degree programs lack the convenience needed to keep pace with military mission requirements. Our degree programs are offered 100 percent online, giving you 24/7 access to your classes and assignments. By eliminating the restriction of on-ground class requirements, you are able to complete coursework at home or across the globe as long as there is Internet connection. All of our online degrees have been accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Senior Colleges and Universities of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).

Transfer of military experience and training as credits: Your time in the military is not ignored at TUW. We understand the value of your military training and service experience in the academic setting and will work with you to maximize its place in your education experience at TUW. We will also ease the process of transferring academic credits earned at foreign or other accredited institutions.

Degree options to meet you where you are: TUW offers multiple bachelor’s and master’s degree programs as well as a doctorate degree to meet you where you are in your academic journey. Continue your education with one of our bachelor’s programs or advance your career with a master’s or doctorate degree. All programs are taught fully online.

Instructors committed to your academic success: You can trust that you will receive a quality education from our faculty members and staff. Our faculty members and staff are scholar-practitioners who are committed to academic excellence through vetted curriculum, engaging lectures and practical coursework with real-world applications.

No textbook requirement: TUW has revolutionized the way we approach our online programs and course materials by eliminating the textbook requirement. By housing all instructional resources and material online, you save money and have easy access to course information wherever you are.

Our goal is to help you graduate and pursue a meaningful and successful career during, and after your military service. Our commitment to you continues to drive us to ensure our degree programs meet your unique needs as a military student and support your career goals. We have been recognized as a military partner through our military-friendly distinction and encourage you to explore our many bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate programs to find the degree best suited for you.
