American Psychological Foundation

This scholarship fund offers 16 scholarships for graduate students, ranging from $1,000 to $5,000. The major criterion is the research proposal, and students must provide a description of the context of their research. Students must be enrolled in a master’s or doctoral program to apply.

Forest & Honaker Master’s Grant

This award, named in honor of American Psychological Association staff members Nancy Forest and Michael Honaker, is meant for graduate student members of the American Psychological Association of Graduate Students (APAGS) who are currently enrolled in a regionally accredited university. Students must submit a research proposal, a cover letter, curriculum vitae and a letter of recommendation.

Scott and Paul Pearsall Scholarship

This $10,000 scholarship works to support graduate research that is meant to increase the visibility and understanding of adults who live with physical disabilities. The research should seek to improve the understanding of psychological stigmas and pain that is associated with these disabilities, including cerebral palsy and multiple sclerosis. Graduate students must be enrolled full-time at an accredited university.

National Institutes of Health Scholarship

One of the country’s foremost governmental authorities offers an undergraduate scholarship program for full-time students from disadvantaged backgrounds who are interested in behavioral and social science careers. This $20,000 scholarship can be renewed for up to four years, but each renewal commits recipients to two years of NIH service.

National Association of School Psychologists Scholarship

For minority students interested in a career in school psychology, there is this $5,000 scholarship. Students should be enrolled or accepted in an accredited psychology program and pursuing a career as a school psychologist. The award is announced at the NASP Annual convention, and applicants must be organization members.

Epilepsy Foundation Scholarship

This group, dedicated to epilepsy awareness and research, offers a significant scholarship program both in their national office and affiliate organizations. They award funds to students at all levels of psychology education. Students must be interested in researching epilepsy.
